Officials Call on the Public to help to 'Save the Time'If you are a resident in Sullivan County, you would probably have received a postcard with "Save the Date" in the mail. The officials in the county hope their residents cooperate to 'Save the Time' and a historic timepiece.

Sullivan County officials have posted a request for donations inside the county courthouse. The hublot replica around the outside have not kept correct time for years. It's going to cost about $28,000 to restore the historic panerai watches to its former glory.

Commissioners have agreed to pay for 50 percent of the cost, but want donations from the public to cover the other half. They believe it's an easy way to make a better first impression for visitors.

"(The Commissioners) felt like a lot of people would come to town and say, 'Well they cannot keep audemars piguet replica working so why would we be interested in doing business here in Sullivan County," said Sullivan County Auditor Jean Harris. "They wanted to help make a better impression."

The signs have been put out for a few weeks.

Up to now, the total donations have reached a little over $100.
